At Your Side During Difficult Times

If you are involved in a contested divorce where you and your spouse cannot agree on the basic issues, you need legal help. At Law Practice, Ltd., we help clients get through the emotional and legally complex process of a contested divorce.

We can represent you in your efforts to resolve issues including:

What to Expect During a Contested Divorce

Our team has a vast knowledge of Nevada and Las Vegas laws and legislation and will use all of the knowledge at our disposal to serve you. The format of a Nevada contested divorce is similar to that of others. If the contested divorce is litigated the following may happen:

  • Meeting with an attorney
  • Divorce Complaint Served Upon Your Spouse
  • Your Spouse Responds to the Complaint
  • Discovery
  • Settlement
  • Trial

Your spouse will have 21 days to respond to your complaint for divorce. Most judges will encourage a settlement though not all divorce cases can be settled out of court. The court may also order mediation with a third party. In the event that the case does move to trial, our team will walk you through each step. Post-trial motions may happen In the event that your spouse appeals after the trial.

Fighting for Your Rights & the Best Interests of Your Children

While we strive to resolve contested divorces in mediation, we will not hesitate to enter a courtroom. You have the right to see your children and ensure that they are provided for financially. You also have the right to certain assets and possibly support of your own.

While we do not want to place your children in the middle of a contentious situation when it comes to support payments or custody issues, we are prepared to fight for the positive outcome you deserve. The outcome of your divorce can have a profound impact on you, your children, and your future. Make sure you have positioned yourself for success from the very start by retaining Law Practice, Ltd.
