Experience Makes All the Difference
Over 30 Years of Legal Experience
Since your wedding day, you and your spouse have likely acquired a lot of property and assets. Divorcing spouses each have a right to their share of this marital property. If you and your spouse cannot agree on how assets and debts should be divided, Law Practice, Ltd. can help. Our attorneys assist clients with the division of assets and debts in Las Vegas.
Protecting Your Property Rights
Nevada is a community property state. This means that the assets and debt acquired during the marriage must be divided between the spouses. While mediation is often effective at resolving disagreements about property and debt division, it is important to understand that you don’t have to take the first offer. Our Las Vegas divorce attorneys will protect your rights throughout the process.
Community property is divided equitably unless:
- There is a valid prenuptial agreement
- The couple decides to divide property or debts differently
- The court finds that one party wasted or hid marital assets
- Certain property is determined to be separate
Before marital assets and property can be divided, it must be valued. At Law Practice, Ltd., we work to ensure that all property is properly valued so that you receive your fair share of all marital assets and property.
You and your spouse are also equally responsible for all debt accumulated during the marriage. We can represent you effectively to ensure that you do not have to take on unfair debts.
Trusted Counsel for Complex Cases
Retirement accounts, high net worth spouses, businesses, and other complex situations make dividing assets and debts more challenging. We work with financial experts to accurately value your marital property.
Our attorneys have three decades of experience helping clients through complicated divorces. We know that the property division process can be emotionally taxing, so let us handle the legal work on your behalf.
